Breakfast Places we recommend in Orange Beach, Alabama

We find that many guests prefer to eat breakfast in the room before heading to the beach. However, there are some really great breakfast spots nearby that we enjoy and visit regularly, and we think you should check them out while visiting the area.

Duck's Diner

Duck's is an "old school diner" that combines your familiar favorite dishes with modern Southern cuisine.  While it serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, our favorite is breakfast. Don't let the line outside deter you - it moves fast and the experience will be worth the wait.

Hours: 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM

4560 Easy St., Orange Beach, AL
(Just off Canal Rd.)

Cafe Beignet

They do what they do and they do it well - beignets (french donuts) and great coffee. We order ours to go and eat them at the condo. The donuts are cheaper by the dozen. You will need to bring cash or checks as that is all that is accepted; there is an ATM outside but the fee is $3.00. They have no formal website or Facebook page and don't advertise - they don't need to. The shop is packed early.

Hours:  6:30 AM to noon-ish

25405 Perdido Beach Blvd., Suite 22, Orange Beach, AL

Coffee

The Southern Grind Coffee House

The Southern Grind has two locations. The location inside the new Indigo Hotel is directly across from one of our condos at the Palm Beach. The other location is on Main Street at The Wharf Complex and features all your favorite hot and cold coffee drinks as well as fresh baked goods, salads, paninis and gelato. The atmosphere is warm and inviting (like a coffee shop should be). While you are waiting for your coffee, you can shop for a unique gift or original, local artwork.

This is usually our last stop after a long weekend at one of our condos on our way home to Daphne. If you are looking for a gift to bring back to a friend or loved one that says, "I went to Orange Beach and had a great time and you didn't!" This is your place.

City Donut

City Donut offers made-from-scratch donuts fresh daily in Orange Beach along with brewed coffee and espresso drinks. The line outside starts early, and they typically sell out every day. We go at least once each time we visit, and we'll wager that these will be some of the best donuts you've ever had.

Hours:  6:00 AM to 12:00 PM

26551 Perdido Beach Blvd., Orange Beach, AL

The Ruby Slipper Cafe

The Ruby Slipper Cafe is a new choice for the 2016 season and is direct across from our Phoenix III condos. The Orange Beach location is an extension of the wildly successful New Orleans original, which was inspired by Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. We believe the Orange Beach location is destined for the same level of success as its New Orleans counterpart, which has been consistently named "Best New Orleans Breakfast and Brunch" spot. The menu brings a unique creole flair to southern breakfast standards, brunch classics and fresh lunch dishes, as well as eye-opening cocktails.

Hours:  7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

24151 Perdido Beach Blvd, Orange Beach, AL
