Indoor Fun on the Gulf Coast

The National Naval Aviation Museum may not be the first thing you think about when you visit Orange Beach, but it should and that's why it's on this list. It would be a shame to drive all the way from wherever you're from and not consider visiting this amazing collection of over 190 beautifully restored aircraft. The collection is the world's largest Naval Aviation museum and rivals the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. In addition to the displays, the museum operates an IMAX Theater.

Practice demonstrations by the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, may be viewed from the museum most Tuesday and Wednesday mornings between March and November. These practices are "weather permitting." You can view both practice and show schedules on the Blue Angels Website.

Believe it or not, this gem is only about 20 miles from any of our condos and is located on Naval Air Station Pensacola. Check out the link and make plans to visit. You can rush through in half a day, but you won't want to leave. Did I mention that it's FREE!?

Gulf Bowl is a 24 lane, family-operated bowling center that is only 13 miles away from any of our condos, which makes it only a 20 minute drive. It is another rainy beach day option for families who enjoy the sport. In addition to bowling, there is an adult pool table room, a 2500 sq. ft. arcade, a multilevel laser tag arena, and a full-service seafood restaurant and a snack bar.  Please check the website for nightly specials.

Fat Daddy's Arcade offers a rainy day option with over 65 games including popular video games, skee ball, basketball free throws, and interactive games. There is something for every age. Fat Daddy's Pizza serves sandwiches, salads and, of course pizzas. It is located on the beach road 1.8 miles from the Palms and Admirals Quarters and only half a mile from the Phoenix III.

Arena: The Next Level is an indoor amusement park located at the Wharf Entertainment Complex. It features over 4,000 sq. ft. of laser tag, bazooka balls, and arcade games. I can't say that Pam and I have ever visited, but I can say that our guests who have visited have had a blast.
