Lunch places we recommend in Orange Beach, Alabama
Lunch can be a great time to beat the heat and take a break from the sand and sun. Our area offers a variety of amazing lunch restaurants with some exceptional views and, well, wonderful food. From seafood and burgers to Mexican and more, Orange Beach and the surrounding area has some of the best food around.
The Gulf
The Gulf is a unique beach bar with an amazing view of Perdido Pass. It serves "thoughtful food inspired by the Gulf of Mexico," and the building is made from repurposed shipping containers. The seating is outdoors so the experience is completely dependent on the weather. We enjoy The Gulf for lunch and also for sunset cocktails.

Fisher's at Orange Beach Marina
Fisher's is actually two restaurants in one and is a great choice for both lunch and dinner. Both serve fresh seafood but in slightly different atmospheres. Fisher's Dockside is more relaxed and casual, and the Dockside menu offers several sandwiches, taco and salad offerings suitable for lunch or a light supper. Fisher's Upstairs is an upscale, fine dining experience that offers dishes like seared scallops and grilled swordfish. Upstairs dining is more appropriate for a special occasion and would be great for a final farewell dinner at the end of your vacation. Reservations recommended for upstairs dining.

Cosmo's Restaurant & Bar
Cosmo's is listed under both lunch and dinner for good reason. It remains our go-to restaurant when we can't decide where to go. We've tried just about everything on the menu - it's all great and there is something for everyone. The service is always friendly and reliable, and the only problem is that the secret is out. Great for lunch and dinner or drinks.

Shrimp Basket
The Shrimp Basket was started in 1993 in Gulf Shores and has since grown into a regional chain of 21 locations. Their motto is "We're Grillin, Steamin, and Fryin." This is a great place for lunch, and as their name would suggest, they do shrimp really well! We go for the fried shrimp baskets and po-boys but the menu is extensive. The great thing is that the Shrimp basket is located only 2.5 miles east of our Phoenix II condo and 0.5 miles east of our Palms and Admirals Quarters locations. Call ahead for take out.

Luna's Eat & Drink
OK. Confessions upfront. For us, Luna's is more of a "drink & eat" kind of place. Their claim to fame is their 32 tap bar...yes 32 craft beers, most of which can't be found anywhere else on the island. They try to serve at least half of these from local or at least southern breweries. Don't get me wrong... menu is great, I like the house fried pork skins and the pimiento hushpuppies. But who are we fooling? The beer selection is tough to beat. Brian and Jodi are accomplished restauranteurs (see Cobalt and Cosmo's elsewhere on our site) who seem to strike oil every time they open a new place.

Playa Restaurant
Playa Restaurant is another offering from Johnny Fisher (the owner of Fisher’s, see above) and has quickly become one of our favorites for for a late lunch or tapas at sunset. It is located off Canal Road at Sportsman Marina and is situated directly on Terry Cove. It is perfect for sunset dinning and or drinks. The menu is Caribbean and Latin influenced and features seafood, tacos salads and soups as well as traditional Caribbean dishes.
