Outdoor Fun on the Gulf Coast
There are plenty of attractions across the Alabama Gulf Coast for those who have had their fill the gulf and the sand. Those listed below are ones that we have experience with. Many offer a combination of outside activities and indoor arcades. Check websites for specials.
Adventure Island
Adventure Island features rides and thrills for the entire family - go-carts, bumper boats, mini golf, arcades, and lazer tag. It is located in the heart of Orange Beach across from the Phoenix V. This is not a "one ticket covers all" amusement park, but the prices aren't too outrageous. There's also a coupon that can be printed out from their home page for BOGO for go-carts, mini golf, and lazer tag. Some restrictions apply.

Waterville, USA
Waterville is a 20-acre water and amusement park located less than 8 miles from any of our condos. An admission ticket to Waterville includes all of the water attractions from 10 AM-6 PM and the amusement park attractions from 12 PM-6 PM. The water park attractions include 17 water slides, a lazy river, wave pool and Flowrider. The amusement park side includes Nascart Go-Carts, Cannonball Run roller coaster, 36 holes of miniature golf and much more. The amusement park also has a larger arcade - not included in the park admission. The website offers a Calendar Page to check the operating dates for both parks.

Pirate's Island Adventure Golf
Pirate's Island Adventure Golf features two 18 hole adventure-themed miniature golf courses with pirate ships and waterfalls all situated in tropical surroundings. Rates are reasonable though older teenagers may find this park a little juvenile. Families with younger children will have a blast. If you are planning to check out Pirate's Island, visit their website first for a Kids Play Free coupon. This applies to children 12 years of age and younger. Limit 1 child per 1 paying adult.

The Track Family Recreation Center
As its name implies, The Track Recreation Center features several go-kart tracks, including a three-story spiraling wooden track. With single and double-seated karts, everyone can ride. In addition, to go kart racing, there are bumper boats, an area for children called Kids Kountry, an arcade, mini-golf, and a sky coaster.

Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo
Many travelers to the Alabama Gulf Coast are unaware that there is so much to see and do off the beach. One of the best kept secrets is the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. While no one will confuse this zoo with the likes of say, the San Diego zoo or the Bronx zoo, the Gulf Coast Zoo features more than 500 animals including lions, tigers, bears, wolves, primates and much more.
The Zoo features seasonal hands on animal encounters and daily animal shows during the summer. Elevated viewing decks offer close-up viewing of everything from alligators to tigers, plus a reptile house, aviary, petting zoo, gift shop, concessions, and a shaded picnic area.
